For this project I started by researching photographers that made multiple images. I looked at Paul M Smith first and liked the images he did of Robbie. I liked that the images were really close together making them more realistic.
I then found a girl who isn't famous but makes loads of multiple images. I really liked this one and liked the idea of maybe creating a get together scene in the garden. I knew that I wouldn't be able to fit as many people in my garden as its quite small but I wanted to try and fit as many as I could in one photo.
When it came to shooting I used my cousin. I found it difficult to think of different things she could be doing. I did simple things like standing talking but I wanted to try something a little more complex. This is when I decided to try and make it look like she was passing the glass to herself. I knew that this would be a bit of a challenge as the glass is see through and I'd need to show her hands behind it grabbing hold of the glass.
Here is my final photo:
Composition:
The composition for this photograph is a kind of diagonal composition. With the washing line going diagonally the people kind of follow it.
Theme:
The theme for this image is interaction. The people are talking to each other as if they two separate people rather than all the same person. A lot of people that make multiple images like to show conflict between themselves in images where as this is all about individual people.
Colouring:
The colouring is pretty dull. There aren't really any bright colours other than the red berries in the background. It's all very neutral.
Improvements:
If I was to re do this work and make improvements I would first make sure that the tripod stayed still as it moved on one of the frames meaning that part of the washing line is cut off and on her leg. I would also be more precise going around the outline of the people as I can see some bits are faded which doesn't look realistic.
